Landfill gas Project WPP, as the pioneer company in environmental protection, presents a new and opportune project, according to the policies and regulations of the Government of Costa Rica; outlined in the program of National Strategy on Climate Change, that consists on decomposing methane to transform it in carbon dioxide and CO2. Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction trading is being considered by many public  and private leaders as a practical way to reduce, and eventually reverse, the potential impacts of global warming. It is a technique recognized by Kioto Protocol of the United Nations as Clean Development Mechanism (Mecanismo de Desarrollo Limpio - MDL).     The Project design was in charge of the company SCS of the United States, experts in this matter.
